Health Care workers
We know that the risk of getting COVID-19 is much higher for healthcare workers, and the risk of serious complications is much higher for older people or people with long-term illnesses. The HSE is offering this vaccine to reduce the illness and deaths being caused by COVID-19 in our communities.
Staff vaccinations have already begun at pace and we are planning for the majority of frontline healthcare workers in both acute and community settings to be vaccinated over the next few weeks.
Long-term residential care facilities
Planning is underway to ensure all long-term residential care facilities receive the vaccine by the end of February 2021
