Following proper infection prevention and control practices (hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette) are the most important ways to minimise risk to patients and to control exposure to occupational infections for healthcare workers.

 

The latest PPE information is available here along with seven new PPE donning and doffing posters. 

 

These posters have been developed by the national Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control team to provide guidance to staff using PPE including coveralls.  

 

On Friday 15 May we held an Education Programme webinar for Appropriate Use of PPE.  3,140 people joined the webinar to listen to Prof Cormican, National Clinical lead and Mary McKenna, Asst Director of Nursing for Infection Prevention and Control.  Lots of practical information and advice was shared and is now available here on HPSC.ie.
