The 2024 Cycle to Work Scheme is now open to new applications, and will, subject to availability of resources, remain open until the 30th September 2024.  Please see below for details , please find the application Form on attached PDF.

 

 

Important Note:  There was a change to the Scheme in 2022 and the limit has been updated to 1,250 Euro for Bicycles, 1,500 Euro for E-Bike & Pedelecs & a 3,000 Euro limit applicable for Cargo and ecargo bikes.  You can re-apply after 4 years has elapsed since your last application. The tax year in which bike was provided counts as first year. If your last application was prior to 1st January 2021 , then you are eligible to apply again this year. If you are unsure, as to when your last application was made, please email Vikki Dinnage vikki.dinnage@hse.ie or Aisling Kennny  aisling.kenny8@hse.ie  , noting your SAP number, and you will be advised accordingly.

 

  • Please ensure that the form is fully completed, as incomplete forms will not be processed.  If you are submitting an invoice with your application please ensure that VAT breakdown is also noted on the invoice, as, if not included, the application will be returned as incomplete. I have attached a current list of approved suppliers for your information.  It is your responsibility to ensure that the supplier is on the approved list, and this must be checked prior to submission. The list is updated regularly on Revenue website and can be accessed on www.revenue.ie. Cycle to Work Scheme Application Form must be submitted  to Ms Nora Quain, HSE MW , Payment Services Dept, 31-33 Catherine St, Limerick.  Any incomplete forms will be returned to applicant for completion in full before being processed. 

Please do not email us the applications or invoices, as only original hard copy applications & original hard copy invoices will be processed. Please note deductions from salary must be completed in current tax year, i.e by 31st December 2024. There is an option to have deductions completed in a shorter period. Please refer to application form for details.

 

This form is for HSE Mid West staff only. CFA staff should contact their local Tusla manager.

Application Process

 

  • Applicants for new bicycle & related equipment under the terms of the scheme are required to complete in full pages 1 & 2 of the Cycle to Work Scheme Application Form above and submit them to Ms Nora Quain, HSE MW , Payment Services Dept, 31-33 Catherine St, LimerickAny incomplete forms will be returned to applicant for completion in full before being processed. 

 

  • The information provided on page 2 of the form will be used by  Payment Services to create a Purchase Order which Payment Services will send directly to the supplier (bicycle shop).  It is vitally important that as much detail as possible is included to avoid incorrect fulfillment of order by supplier.

 

  • The supplier on receipt of the order from Payment Services will be requested to submit their invoice for payment directly to Payment Services before releasing the bicycle to the employee.

 

  • Payment Services after checking invoice received from the supplier matches the original order will pay the invoice and instruct Payroll Dept to begin deductions from applicant's pay in subsequent pay runs.

 

  • Payment Services will then inform employee of invoice being paid and deductions from payroll will commence immediately.  Employees can then go ahead and arrange for collection of bicycle & equipment from the supplier.

ApAppendix Notes

  • Please note that if for any reason a refund is being sought from supplier this must be processed through HBS Payment Services as there are tax implications regarding the employee's pay in such a scenario.
