The HSE Health Regions Implementation Plan was published today, Monday 31 July 2023.
We aim to establish our Health Regions from February 2024. The Implementation Plan includes key actions and timelines for 2023 and 2024 to help us achieve this aim.
Health regions will allow us to:
- deliver more integrated care closer to patients’ homes by bringing hospital and community services together
- plan and deliver services around the needs of local populations
- improve governance and accountability at all levels
- strengthen local decision-making
- provide consistent quality of care across the country
This week, the government approved the recruitment of the 6 Regional Executive Officer posts to lead the Health Regions. These posts will be very important in establishing our Health Regions from February 2024. The recruitment process for these posts is in progress.
