What is Making Every Contact Count?

Making Every Contact Count is about encouraging and helping people to make healthier choices to achieve positive long-term behaviour change. Frontline staff can achieve this by conducting a brief conversation with a patient/service user, focusing on health behaviour change. This programme aims to support and upskill staff to conduct brief interventions and to encourage patients to make healthier lifestyle choices by focusing on health behaviours (alcohol use, unhealthy eating, tobacco use, physical inactivity) that research strongly tells us are associated with poor health outcomes and chronic disease.

The programme consists of 6 e-learning modules (30 minutes/module) and a 2.5 hour Enhance Your Skills workshop that can be conducted virtually or face-to-face.
