Rail vouchers for travel staff cease

We wish to advise you that we are no longer going to be purchasing and distributing Rail Vouchers , for staff travel.

The original purpose of the scheme was to save the HSE money, as we were able to buy vouchers in bulk and get them at a reduced cost.

This is not the case any longer and it appears that individuals can purchase tickets for same price or more often, cheaper, directly from Irish Rail.

Therefore there is no benefit to the HSE in incurring administration costs and overheads in running the scheme.

The standard compliant HSE process for managing travel and subsistence claims is via Employee Self Service (ESS), where managers approve any travel incurred, and it is properly recorded on NISRP system.
